This chassis series includes chassis numbes GLR26 - GLR82X, and chassis numbers with GSR and GTR prefix.

New features in R series, GLR26 on
A new cylinder head was fitted, with larger inlet valves. The compression ratio was raised from 4.6:1 to 5.25:1. A flexible engine suspension was also introduced.
A new exhaust manifold was introduced, having a three-bolt flange joint to the exhaust downpipe.
Staybrite stainless steel radiator shells were standardised.
